NCCCO Safety Conference Scheduled for CONEXPO Latin America

September 2015—An international line-up of experts is being assembled by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) for the NCCCO Crane and Rigging Professional Safety Conference to be held in conjunction with the inaugural CONEXPO Latin America (CELA) conference and exhibition, October 21–24, 2015, in Santiago, Chile.

CELA_Color_RGB+dates200xIn addition to an extensive exhibit featuring all of NCCCO’s ANSI/ISO-accredited personnel certification programs, NCCCO will be presenting the one-day Crane and Rigging Safety Conference, where on October 22 attendees will learn from top-level industry experts.

Speakers already confirmed include: David Rodrigues, CEO, Makro Engenharia, Fortaleza, Brazil; Jorge Vial-Undurraga, Vice President, Vial Equipment S&S, Santiago, Chile; Jim Wiethorn, P.E., Principal/Chairman, Haag Engineering, Houston, TX, and Joel Oliva, NCCCO Director of Operations and Program Development.

Topics range from promoting a safety culture in the Latin American crane and transport industry; crane accidents and their causes and trends; best practices in crane inspections; and crane operator certification.  In addition, the Crosby Group will present a paper on crane block concepts, inspection, terminations and the load hook.
